Music / First LookStream a crisp and clear-eyed take on Broods from TCTSThe New Zealand pop duo are given a wistful dance twist in the UK house producer's many-layered remixShareLink copied ✔️July 28, 2014MusicFirst LookText Parker Bruce New Zealand's Broods have gotten their boom clap stomper "Mother & Father" remixed by the lithe house artist TCTS (England's Sam O'Neill). Bookended with diaphanous vocal layers and loops, the crux of TCTS' iteration circles around the lyrics "I don't want to wake up lonely" – aka going straight to the heart of vocalist Georgia Nott's anxiety. With a crisp clip and spindly tendrils, it's a new take that hones into Broods' dancing-through-heartbreak urgency, making it just that much more palatably wrenching. Their first album has the appropriately-autumnal title Evergreen and will be out on October 7 in the US (and early 2015 in Europe). Escape the algorithm!
