MusicNewsHBO unleashes the full Catch the Throne mixtapeListen to the Game of Thrones-themed rap mixtape with Big Boi, Wale and CommonShareLink copied ✔️March 7, 2014MusicNewsTextThomas Gorton HBO has paid rappers to spit all things Game Of Thrones on a new rap mixtape called Catch The Throne – and the channel just unleashed the final product on Soundcloud. Featuring ten tracks from names like Big Boi, Common, Wale and upcoming musicians like Snow Tha Product and Kilo Kish, the mixtape leans heavy on the novelty Game of Thrones references. Let's just say, if you're looking for a more subtly metaphorical approach to Westeros politics, you wouldn't look here. Big Boi's offering is called "Mother Of Dragons", a tune all about conquering queen Daenerys and includes the lyrics "it won't be that much longer 'til Khaleesi take the Iron Throne, they call her the mother of dragons, you under attack nigga, this our home". Dominik Omega pretty much paraphrases Arya Stark's entire character arc in the show: "After Joffrey made a martyr of my father, I had to flee the city but my heart grew harder". Meanwhile, Common opts for a slightly more prosaic approach on his contribution: '‘I sit and think when I’m in my zone / This life is like a Game of Thrones." We feel you, bro.
