Call Super Exclusive Mix

The Warp, Planet E and Theo Parrish influenced duo present their first official EP on London's fledgling record label and whip up a new mix for us

Hailing from London, JR Seaton and Matt Waites joined forces after meeting at their respective DJ sets last year, whereupon they discovered they shared a love of Warp Records, AFX, Theo Parrish, early Planet E and Laurent Garnier, and Actress. Having been featured on Beats in Space and Ben Watts' Buzzin Fly radio show, Call Super present their first 4-track EP as the second release on the new London-based label Five Easy Pieces. Shifitng between house and trippy electronica, classic 808 sounds and electro influences, the EP is also accompanied by a remix from elusive producer Objekt. The duo make us an exclusive mix which you can download here.

WHAT'S…

...your secret talent?
Keeping a straight face.

...your worst vice?

Staring blankly at screens not knowing what to do next.

…the story behind your name?

It's a term for an anti-pattern - or something which is working against you.

... your favourite sound?

Sharpening a knife.

...your worst fashion secret?

What does that mean? I get most of my stuff from the local sozialladen (local community second-hand store). Fashion is in the eye of the beholder I guess. Sameheads is the best shop in Berlin for interesting clothes.

...your favourite website?

Depends. Either www.anambitiousprojectcollapsing.com, www.thetrilogytapes.com/blog or The Guardian

... good for breakfast?

Finely chopped jalapenos, tomatoes, avocados, basil and red onion over scrambled eggs.

...the best thing about where you're from?

I'm from London. The answer to that changes with the wind.

...at the top of your shit list?

Stuff like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=xH1jxYZbpWo

...are you listening to now?

Kruton, Busen, Objekt, Lou Reed, Boubacar Traoré, Zomby and Claude Young

How would you describe your work?

Imagine Michael Hutchence's house built in a field of fleshy, spore-bearing Ascomycota. There lies within something for everybody – whether a bed to take rest in, or space to explore.

The new EP from Call Super on Five Easy Pieces is out on Monday 8 August.
