The UK bass imprint’s acronym stands for World Of Wonders, and has become the latest addition to Pinch’s Multiverse label, home to Caravan, Earwax and Joker’s Kapsize imprint. W.O.W. will see its first release drop in the form of a double A-side by Gemmy, entitled “Jah Know” and “Under The Stairs”. Previously racking up releases on Punch Drunk and Planet Mu, Gemmy is most famous for his self-proclaimed “Purple Wow” sound - first coined by Gemmy, Guido and Joker to describe the unique brand of dubstep coming out of the Bristol scene. Purple Wow draws from Grime and American R&B, with an emphasis on synth-heavy bass music. Gemmy’s debut release on W.O.W. certainly attests to this; the EP laying an impressive foundation upon which the imprint can build.
