Today, Feeld, “dating app for the curious”, presents Feeld Raw 2025, “its annual deep dive into the desires, identities, and connections that shaped modern intimacy this past year”. The data offers a rare insight into what goes on behind closed bedroom doors around the world – if you’re curious, read on.

THE DEATH OF HETEROSEXUALITY

Feeld’s data shows a dramatic surge in sexual fluidity, with ‘heteroflexible’ emerging as the fastest growing sexuality on the app, up 193 per cent. If you’re unfamiliar, the term describes someone who is primarily attracted to the opposite gender while occasionally having same-sex experiences or desires.

Millennials constitute almost two-thirds (65 per cent) of heteroflexible Feeld members, while Gen Z make up 18 per cent.

“These changes speak to the growing awareness that sexuality is complex. If anything, it would be surprising if people were never sexually curious about people of their own sex or gender, or if attraction worked in neat and predictable ways,” Dr Luke Brunning, Lecturer in Applied Ethics at the University of Leeds, said of the data.

TOYS ARE GOING MAINSTREAM

Toys were one of members’ top three growing desires, surging by a staggering 400 per cent. “The stigma around toy-use is certainly reducing, as they become more mainstream and better represented in advertising and the media,” Dr Brunning says. “Men may also be appreciating how toys can enhance pleasure and intimacy, rather than threaten it.”

Notably, interest in pegging has surged among cis men by 200 per cent. “Pegging has shifted from taboo to mainstream preference. Feeld data shows cis men are driving the surge – a sign of decreasing stigma around anal pleasure, regardless of gender and sexuality,” Dr Brunning explains, adding that the trend points “towards a vision of masculinity that is more comfortable talking about the body, pleasure, and female agency.”

DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS

Feeld’s data also highlights how trends can vary from place to place.

Brazil is the most vanilla country in the world, with the four most vanilla cities located in the South American country and São Paulo as number one.

Berlin is the most heteroflexible city in the world, as well as the city with the highest proportion of open relationships, cementing its reputation as a hub for fluidity and freedom of expression.

Elsewhere, Portland and Seattle emerged as the top cities for dom/sub/switch dynamics; Miami is the pegging capital of the world; Boston is the edging capital of the world; San Francisco is the roleplay capital of the world; and Mumbai is the cuddling capital of the world.
