Dazed and Confused (1993)

The Dazed and Confused cast is reuniting to encourage you to vote

Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Wiley Wiggins, Parker Posey, and more are joining a virtual script reading of the film

Alright, alright, alright: the cast of Dazed and Confused are set to reunite on Sunday (October 11) in an effort to encourage people to vote ahead of the US presidential election.

Over 20 of the film’s stars will come together for a virtual script reading of Richard Linklater’s 1993 coming-of-age classic, including Matthew McConaughey (who played David Wooderson), Ben Affleck (Fred O’Bannion), Wiley Wiggins (Mitch Kramer), Parker Posey (Darla Marks), Adam Goldberg (Mike Newhouse), and Anthony Rapp (Tony Olson).

There will also be a live Q&A after the reading, which will be moderated by comedian and actor Patton Oswalt. The event is raising money for climate activist group, March for Science, as well as the Voto Latino Foundation’s campaign to promote voting in Texas – where Dazed and Confused was set. There’s no minimum donation amount, so viewers can contribute as much as they can.

The cast aren’t the first to reunite to encourage voting in the upcoming election. On Saturday – October 3 and Mean Girls day – Tina Fey (drug pusher Ms Norbury), Lindsay Lohan (Cady Heron), Rachel McAdams (Regina George), Amanda Seyfried (Karen Smith), Lacey Chabert (Gretchen Wieners), and more joined a video call to reminisce about their time on set, and to tell viewers that it would be “so fetch” if they voted on November 3.

The Dazed and Confused script reading will take place on Sunday (October 11) at 7:30PM EST (or, if you’re in the UK, at 12:30AM on Monday October 12). You can donate and get your access link here.
