Paris Hilton confronts her past ‘heartbreaking trauma’ in a new documentary

This is Paris sees the reality star open up about the abuse she experienced as a teenager at boarding school

Paris Hilton is set to open up about the “heartbreaking trauma” of her past in a new documentary, titled This is Paris

In a teaser for the YouTube Originals film, the reality star says she’s “nervous” and “shaky” about telling her story, adding: “Something happened in my childhood that I never talked about with anyone. I still have nightmares about it.”

“Finally ready to reveal who I truly am,” Hilton wrote in an Instagram caption, “and speak about experiences in my life that I’ver never told anyone before. Get ready to meet The Real Paris.”

This is Paris uncovers the hidden past of the international icon,” the film’s description reads. “As Paris confronts the heartbreaking trauma that forged who she is today, this deeply compelling portrait tells the real story of a teenage girl desperate to escape into a fantasy and sheds new light on the Insta-fame culture that Paris helped to create.”

According to People, the documentary sees Hilton discuss the mental abuse that she experienced as a teenager at boarding school in Utah.

Speaking on The Talk in March, Hilton said: “I became so close with the director, and she really asked me so many questions. I started thinking about my past and what I’ve been through and realised just how much it’s affected my life and how I was holding on to so much trauma for so long.”

The star continued: “I think when people see this film, they’re really going to see a different side to me than they’ve ever seen before. I honestly didn’t know who I was up until this year. I really learned a lot about myself through this film.”

This is Paris premieres on September 14 on Paris Hilton’s YouTube channel.
