The actor Harry Hains, from American Horror Story and The OA, has died

Hains, also a model and musician, was 27

Harry Hains has died aged 27, according to an announcement by his mother, Jane Badler, posted on Thursday. She says that he passed away earlier this week, on January 7, though no details were given regarding the cause of the Australian actor’s death.

Hains has recently acted in The OA and appeared in American Horror Story. He’s also been in a variety of films (some still in post-production) as well as working as a musician, under the name Antiboy, and modelling.

“He was 27 and had the world at his feet,” Badler, also an actor, wrote in the announcement. “But sadly he struggled with mental illness and addiction. A brilliant spark shone bright too short a time...”

“I will miss you Harry every day of my life…”

A memorial service will be held tomorrow (January 12), in Los Angeles.
