Holy shit, the American Horror Story: Apocalypse trailer is here

Joan Collins, the coven, and the end of the world

The first proper trailer for the next season of American Horror Story is here, and oh my god it looks fucking wild. The crossover series, which joins together season installments ‘Murder House’ and ‘Coven’, is titled ‘Apocalypse’.

The clip opens with Evan Peters and Joan Collins on a plane which encounters turbulence – “It’s the end of the world,” Peters says, an emergency siren rings and we see shots of people in hazmat suits and a mushroom cloud of fire. There’s also a quick shot of Michael Langdon (Cody Fern), the anti-Christ child from the very first season, Constance Langdon (touting Jessica Lange’s return), and the coven including supreme Cordelia (Sarah Paulson), Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), Myrtle (Frances Conroy), and Madison (Emma Roberts).

“I bet you thought you’d seen the last of me,” says Madison Montgomery, the bitchiest witch alive or dead, as she redoes her iconic, gif-able line from ‘Coven’.

The trailer adds that “They’re back with a vengeance”.

It’s also been revealed that several cast members will play their roles from across the seasons – Taissa Farmiga will play both ‘Murder House’s’ Violet Harmon and ‘Coven’ witch Zoe Benson. Paulson and Peters will play characters from two of their seasons as well as new roles.

Other cast members returning include Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates, and Billie Lourd from past AHS installments.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse will premiere on FX September 12.
