Whether you’re a Kubrick megafan who’s watched his oeuvre back to front or a student of crime filmic classics, reading a movie’s script can give new dimension and perspective to a medium you love.
Shore Scripts, an organisation of film industry professionals, has just released 45 screenplays available to read and download for free. As Indiewire reports, the library is split into nine different genres – drama, crime, romance, action, science fiction, horror, thriller, animation, and comedy – with five movie scripts in each category. Shore Scripts aims to help emerging screenwriters make it in the film and TV industry.
The selection features some of the most expansive, pioneering pieces of modern cinema across multiple genres – from A Clockwork Orange to The Matrix, Poltergeist, and Back to the Future II, to Legally Blonde and Mean Girls.
“Use this resource as a place of reference, inspiration and motivation in order to find and grow your voice. That is what will truly elevate your work and get you noticed,” Shore Scripts’ screenplay collection intro reads.
