And the British fashion offensive continues. Not satisfied with having just launched on of the more successful London Fashion Weeks in recent times, the British Fashion Council is now upping the ante by moving its LONDON show ROOMS scheme to New York City. From yesterday, and until Thursday this week, the event show cases the finest crop of British design talent. James Long, Louise Gray, Peter Pilotto, Mark Fast and Meadham Kirchoff are just a few of the lucky ones to cross the pond to face American press and buyers. Caroline Rush, CEO (Joint) of the BFC, says: “This season our international design initiative, London show Rooms, will be launching in New York in partnership with Centre for Fashion Enterprise. Following on from four successful seasons in Paris we are confident it will give our young designers the means to further their global business profile”. Sarah Mower, the British Fashion Council's Ambassador for Emerging Talent, and chair of the NEWGEN selection committee, kicked off the event with a breakfast this morning, and Vogue US - together with Harry Potter actress and Burberry model Emma Watson - will be hosting a closing cocktail party at Pulino’s on Thursday evening. Watch out, the Brits are coming!
