For decades, Aspen has been a sought-after destination for the world’s most famous and elite, serving as a winter playground for athletes, artists, Hollywood figures and fashion’s inner circle. And if the Colorado mountain town rings a bell for reasons beyond skiing and scenery, some may also remember it as the place where one Real Housewife of Beverly Hills made her dramatic final exit from the franchise. Now, Aspen can add another chapter to its story: hosting one of Moncler’s most ambitious and visually arresting shows to date.

Last weekend (January 31), Moncler Grenoble brought over 300 guests to the mountain to deliver the AW26 collection. While Moncler’s main line offers outerwear that wears just as well in the city, Grenoble is a technical, high-performance counterpart designed for the mountains, rather than a stroll down Broadway Market, and above all prioritising function. Over the past few years, Grenoble has staged its shows in some of the world’s most dramatic alpine locations, from the French Alps to St. Moritz and beyond, always choosing destinations that reflect the brand’s deep-rooted connection to life at high altitude. Moncler’s mountainous origins in the 1950s are mirrored by Aspen's own rise as a ski capital, making the town feel like a natural continuation of that legacy. Alongside the actual show, the weekend saw the inauguration of the latest Moncler Grenoble store, right in the middle of Aspen's picturesque downtown.

Below, we break down all that went down.

WINTER SPORTS CAME FIRST

Just in time for the Winter Olympics, and before the main event, guests were fully immersed in Aspen’s outdoor culture. The morning of the show was dedicated to winter sports, with skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing on the agenda. For regulars on the slopes, the weekend came with a few unexpected celebrity sightings, including Olympic icons like Shaun White casually walking through town. Others opted for guided snowshoeing through the mountains, taking in the kind of scenery that feels cinematic even by Aspen standards.

EVERYONE ARRIVED AT THE LOCATION IN A SNOWMOBILE

The benefit of having a show outside of the traditional fashion week format is that there is no time constraint or rigid structure to rush through. So when it came time for the show, snowmobiles were lined up to take everyone to the location, which was an added moment that reminded guests how special the experience was.

Driving through the snow-covered landscape, wrapped up in brown Moncler Grenoble puffer ponchos, hats, and gloves, guests were fully absorbed into the world the brand had created before arriving at the remote piece of land which had been transformed for the show.

THE SET WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MOUNTAINS

Taking place deep in the mountains at T-Lazy-7 Ranch, the set was surrounded by towering Aspen trees illuminated by an immersive light display. Models walked directly through the snow while tracks like Fade Into You by Mazzy Star and Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill echoed through the trees.

THE TOP SHOWGIRLS WALKED THE SNOWY RUNWAY

Gigi Hadid opened the show, while Imaan Hammam delivered a powerful close. Among the rest of the cast were the likes of Lineisy Montero, Liya Kebede, Carolyn Murphy, Mica Argañaraz, Kit Butler, Yasmin Wijnaldum, and Natasha Poly. After the final walk, all of the models gathered together as David Bowie played, bringing the show to an emotional and atmospheric end.

THERE WAS A WESTERN SPIN ON OUTERWEAR

While Aspen is better known for its regular turnaround of the world's elites, the town has a deep-rooted history with ranching. Throughout the collection, the town’s cowboy heritage was a central component in the detailing and styling of the pieces. Western references appeared through reinforced shoulders with piping inspired by traditional ranch wear, laser-cut fringe details, and rugged fabrics that nodded to outdoor workwear. These elements were balanced with Moncler Grenoble’s signature technical expertise, seen in high-performance ski suits, advanced outerwear constructions, and protective fabrics designed for real mountain conditions. The collection successfully merged Colorado's roots with classic European mountain style, blending these historic influences with contemporary, innovative details.

RAIN (SNOW?) OR SHINE, GUESTS SHOW UP

Even in the mountains, friends and fans of the brand showed up. Blackpink’s Jennie Kim was among the most recognisable faces in attendance. She was joined by brand ambassadors and guests, including Shaun White, Gus Kenworthy, Emily Ratajkowski, Tessa Thompson, Alessandra Ambrosio, Bianca Balti, Penn Badgley, and Kevin Costner.
