Bb trickz and Kiko Kostadinov just dropped a Pill

The Bulgarian designer has teamed up with Beats for a limited edition speaker, and the rising rapper fronts the new campaign

It’s been a busy few months for Spanish rapper Bb Trickz. In April, she dropped her latest album 80’z, and then she became the face of ICECREAM (an extension of Pharrell and Nigo’s Billionaire Boys Club). Now, she’s stepping into the spotlight once again as the star of Beats’ latest collab with designer Kiko Kostadinov

“This is the best looking speaker I’ve ever seen,” the rapper tells Dazed exclusively, and she’s got a point. Designed by the Bulgarian, London-based designer, the special edition Beats by Dre pill speaker blends modern design with historical influence – the campaign is even titled Where Ancient Lines meet Bass Lines

“I believe in creating things that are personal to me and my life. And my life is full of contradictions,” explains Kostadinov. “I embrace the juxtaposition between the modern and the ancient in this design. Working with Beats was the perfect avenue to explore the beauty that lies between these seemingly polar opposite concepts, especially considering how the brand has influenced pop culture and modern street style.”

The speaker takes inspiration from the designer’s Bulgarian roots, featuring a custom grill resembling ornate geometry and the Thracian craftsmanship of the region. Earlier this year, Beats collaborated on a special edition speaker with New York designer Sandy Liang, whilst in the past, the brand has also worked with Balmain, Stüssy and Windowsen.
