Case in point was the hot Parisian house’s latest Haute Couture collection, which snaked its way around an interlocked CC runway which almost touched ends – rendering it something like an infinity symbol, in celebration of Chanel’s 110 years in existence, and a manifestation of at least 110 more. Supermodels like Mona Tougaard, Amelia Gray, and Alex Consani – who made her big Chanel debut for SS25 and was mega excited about it backstage to say the least – all walked the runway, wearing light-as-air, youthful looks comprising sugar candy-coloured tweed jackets, sweeping satin gowns that rippled like liquid, and cute flippy kilt skirts. Most had slipped their bare legs into chic little slingback pumps punched with the classic monogram to the toe, with the whole thing having an easy, laidback vibe we’ve not seen come through in Chanel for some time. Photography Jack Davison Now, as the chaos of Couture dies down and editors continue to make their way through their washing before the womenswear season properly kicks in (NYFW is already on the go, FYI), Chanel has released a new series of photos that allows a better look at the unrivalled ‘savoir-faire’ that goes into each piece from the SS25 offering. And in reality, it’s as close as a lot of us are going to get to Chanel couture, given just how much the average private client has to blast on bespoke pieces. Captured by revered photographer and longtime Dazed collaborator Jack Davison, there are also some shots of the clothes in motion, with models decked out in a bunch of pieces from the offering.
