Supermodel portraits from Schiaparelli’s spellbinding Paris SS25 show

See Kendall, Candace, Maggie and more, captured backstage in Daniel Roseberry’s latest ready-to-wear collection

It’s a familiar fact by now, but a Schiaparelli show is always a starry affair. In past seasons we’ve seen Doja Cat in both Breakfast at Tiffany’s cosplay and covered in 30,000 Swarovski crystals. We’ve witnessed Kylie Jenner wearing a gigantic lion’s head, Julia Fox making her Paris Fashion Week debut, Cardi B dressing up as a high fashion Big Bird, plus more famous faces than even we care to mention. In comparison to previous seasons, though, yesterday’s SS25 ready-to-wear offering seemed to have a lot less focus on the frow than usual – and that was because Daniel Roseberry had saved all the megawatt names for the runway instead.

That’s not to say that Schiaparelli doesn’t love to sprinkle in some supers – take Shalom Harlow and her roaring snow leopard for SS23 – but this season’s show seemed to purposefully up the model quota by some margin. Of course, eternal Roseberry muse Maggie Maurer was there, as was Schiaparelli regular and former Dazed cover star Mona Tougaard, but so was Kendall Jenner, making only her second runway appearance for the brand, and also Adriana Lima, who hasn’t walked for the house since 2018. Add Irina Shayk, Liu Wen, Natasha Poly, Vittoria Ceretti and Candace Swanepoel to the mix, and Roseberry had a superstorm on his hands for SS25.

Besides the casting, this season the designer had the idea of making “clothes not just for our clients, but for their daughters and granddaughters”, so aptly named the collection Future Vintage. An opening section full of hourglass corsetry revealed Roseberry’s intentions to craft an “essential and timeless wardrobe” with the modern woman in mind. Tougaard appeared in a white polo dress, cinched at the waist and twisted into a long braid at the hem, while Jenner arrived hot on her heels in couture-grade denim with a dramatically scooped waistband. Elsewhere, Ceretti was party-ready in a maxi dress with contrasting sheer panels, Maurer wore a sheer crimson creation and clutched at her own braid that fell from a pareo skirt, while Swanepoel was every inch the Schiaparelli woman in a structured denim corset dress and hammered, gold earrings.
