Dropping today, the designer debuts a gothic Lolita-tinged collection of pouffy skirts, slashed band tees, babydoll corset dresses, and a teeny, tiny triangle bikini. “When I was creating this collection, I had my high school years in mind, where I was listening to Avril Lavigne, the Runaways, Bikini Kill, and Girlschool, and trying to find my identity wearing metallic blue Marc Jacobs platforms,” Findikoglu explains. When approaching the collab, she wanted to emulate her Topshop-procured school skirt “that was so short, my teacher called my mum to throw it away, which she eventually did.” Also on the line-up are a couple of Findikoglu’s signature corsets – one in scarlet, and the other bearing a print by artist and legendary Dazed CMO Sophie McElligott. Known for plastering her naughty little gargoyles across ceramics and canvases, for Findikoglu’s collection, McElligott depicts a surreal version of Marie Antoinette’s feast, which is then translated to the front of a coquettish lace-up bodice.
