It seems that, in this Olympic summer, even the models have caught the spirit of competitiveness. For our summer 2024 issue, photographer Delali Ayivi and stylist Feranmi Eso have captured a group of them, and as soon as the camera was up, the gloves were off. Thecla and Renny were engrossed in a vicious game of rock, paper scissors, staring madly into each others eyes; Sebrina and Thecla were preoccupied with trying to rock climb in five-inch stilettos; while Alice and Promesse were just trying their best to fly a kite.

In another image, all five models circle each other ominously, as if they’re about to start grappling with each other, and those fingerless gloves will doubtless do the trick. The gloves – and everything else for that matter – comes courtesy of Missoni’s SS24 collection, and also the label’s most recent Beachwear Collection, too. The Filippo Grazioli designs may not be intended for Olympic-grade wrestling, but these lot are ready to go head-to-head at the drop of a well-made gauntlet. May the best model win.
