Diana Ross is mother in new YSL campaignThe legend is the star of Anthony Vaccarello’s new seriesShareLink copied ✔️January 9, 2024January 9, 2024TextDazed Digital Saint Laurent has a long history of cult creatives to sit front and centre in its campaigns, with the likes of Kim Gordon, Keanu Reeves, Courtney Love, and John Waters all getting in front of regular YSL photographer David Sims camera across the years. And now, just a few days into the new year, the Parisian house has caused what the kids are calling ‘a motherquake’ by signing Diana Ross up for a starring role in its new series. In one single image dropped on Instagram last night, The Supremes’ legend is once again lensed by Sims and depicted in signature black and white. The look is slinky and stripped back: Ross stares down the camera in a sleek black gown with halter-neck straps. Rising to fame in the 60s and 70s as part of the famed girl group, Ross was often snapped emerging out of Studio 54 in looks by Yves Saint Laurent, so the move by Anthony Vaccarello feels almost like a full circle moment.
