In the latest episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the outspoken pre-teen is seen giving the late, great Joan Rivers [RIP] a run for her money by tearing her mum’s custom Schiaparelli couture look to shreds. Filmed during a fitting ahead of the 2023 Met Gala, Kim K is trussed up in a nude satin bustier strung with thousands of white pearls, and Northie is far from impressed. According to the budding fashion critic, the dress is giving “beach”, has excessive gaps between the beading, and in one particularly sharp-tongued final comment, tells her mum it looks like it came” from the Dollar Store”. Designer Daniel Roseberry unsurprisingly looks horrified in the background, calling the moment he gets rinsed by a literal child his “worst nightmare” and wondering if he’s being Punk’d. Kim explains she’s not going for a flapper kind of vibe – not that North even suggests that in the first place – but is instead hoping for a “vintage, authentic, pearly girly”, whatever the hell that means. The thing is, however, is that Northie is kind of right. The Schiaparelli dress is meticulously crafted, sure, but the final look is kind of serving costume: as if Kim has been invited to a Gatsby-themed fancy dress party rather than the most glamorous event on the fashion calendar. North is now a familiar face on the fashion week circuit, sitting front row at Jean Paul Gaultier, Balenciaga, and more, and doesn’t hold back when it comes to saying what she thinks, so perhaps a career in fashion criticism could be looming.
