Chloë Sevigny has had one hell of a summer. First she transformed into an icy empress for Chopova Lowena’s Snow Queen-inspired new book, Conversations With Angels. Then, Proenza Schouler came a-knocking and she gladly obliged, starring in a shearling-swaddled, Davit Giorgadze-lensed AW23 campaign. Now, the OG NY It-girl has reignited her long-standing collaboration with cult skate brand Fucking Awesome as the sunny season enters its twilight throes.

The link-up began almost a decade ago in 2014, when the skate brand slapped Sevigny’s high school photo on one of their boards, in the process birthing must-have grails that are still flogged online for thousands. For the brand’s co-owner Jason Dill, this was one of the main reasons he decided to hit up Sevigny again. “So much has changed since FA first started working with Chloë”, said Dill. “The original Chloë boards are only available on eBay for ten times the price, and there’s a whole new generation of kids that I wanted to give a chance to get one.”

Along with a re-upped version of the old board, the new collection that launches today contains the brands first ever foray into womenswear. Described as “feminine yet functional”, the collection comprises pleated skater skirts adorned with lace doilies, primary school polos with FA logo patches, a nerdcore, argyll sweater vest and black booty shorts with the brand name slapped across the cheeks. In addition to this, Fucking Awesome has also put a second high school photo of Sevigny's on a graphic tee, instantly securing its status as a future grail in the vein of Kate Moss’s Supreme collab. And in the campaign images, the actress is her usual vision of uncomplicated cool, hanging out on New York’s streets with some delinquent skaters, scowling into the middle distance as they show off their swag.
