Back to Schouler: Chloë Sevigny scores a new fashion gig

The style icon links up with an NY it-girl fave for AW23

Last month, actor, style icon, and OG NY it-girl Chloë Sevigny was transformed into an ice queen by Chopova Lowena. “Everyone thinks I’m evil, but I’m just really hot,” she declared in the pages of the book, which were written by artist and former Dazed 100-er Precious Okoyomon

Though we have it on good authority that she is absolutely not evil, the latter part, in regards to her being incredibly hot, is an inarguable fact – and today, she’s adding fuel to the already blazing fire by starring in Proenza Schouler’s latest campaign, looking like a million bucks.

After walking for the label at its AW23 NYFW show, Sevigny was the only sensible choice to front the series. Staring down the lens of photographer [and Dazed contributor] Davit Giorgadze’s camera, she’s decked out in a leather aviator jacket, arms crossed in front of her as she pulls it tight into her chest.

The style is finished with a huge, fuzzy shearling collar, which looks like it would really pleasantly tickle your chin as you nestled into it on the disgusting Monday morning commute. In fact, on glancing upon it, suddenly we’re not so adverse to the onset of autumn and yet more grey, miserable days, despite moaning at every given opportunity about how shit the ‘summer’ weather has been for the past six weeks.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have enlisted Sevigny to take a starring role in a Proenza Schouler campaign. Back in 2017, she was the face of the brand’s PSWL diffusion line, which kitted out cool girls from NY and across the world in tough denim, easy cotton tees, and slinky slips [RIP to that, gone but not forgotten, and never far away from my eBay search bar].
