Everyone’s favourite power couple Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are finally giving fans the collab they’ve been desperately asking for. What’s more: they’re doing it in style.
The pair were spotted filming their music video together in New York over the weekend, head-to-toe in lewk after lewk. Think: Ri in an all-brown outfit, complete with long shearling coat and a headscarf a la A$AP’s 2018 babushka. In this particular couple’s look, Rocky went for a Stefan Cooke all-black bomber and jeans, a black and white cap, and – maybe – a babushka in a plastic bag?
An outfit change then sees Ri in a yellow crop, lime green heels, and a hot pink fluffy jacket from Virgil Abloh’s Louis Vuitton SS22 collection, while Rocky has the green fluffy hat to match. Rihanna later reappears in a knitted blue bikini top, denim short shorts, and a coordinating zebra print hat and coat (the latter topped off with a fluffy blue collar).
Last week, the Metro reported that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky had been spotted at a recording studio together in NYC, sparking excitement among fans who are eager for new Rihanna music, as well as the forthcoming collaboration.
In June, a video of the pair blew up on Twitter, after a bouncer tried to deny Rihanna entry into a bar because she didn’t have her ID. Although the pair eventually got into the venue, fans saw Rihanna smirking as Rocky attempted to reason with the doorman. In video footage from the night, someone can be heard shouting, “I don’t know who you are”.
A$AP Rocky recently spoke out about his relationship with Rihanna in a cover interview with GQ, calling her the “the love of my life” and “the One”. She also makes an appearance — alongside the likes of Tyler, the Creator, Nicki Minaj, Kim Kardashian, and Naomi Campbell — in a new documentary on the rapper’s time in Swedish jail, Stockholm Syndrome.
