Joining forces with Gaspar Noé, the Parisian label this week drops a new short film which pays homage to the giallo genre and, more specifically, Dario Argento’s cult classic Suspiria. Opening with a model running and screaming her way through the woods (v first day back at work vibes, no?), Noé then takes us inside a scarlet-soaked theatre where YSL muse Charlotte Rampling – aka the high priestess – sits staring coolly into a mirror. Giving us big Madame Blanc vibes, the legendary actress is naturally dripping in Saint Laurent, wearing the floral robe with a marabou feather trim that first debuted at the label’s desert-based, socially-distanced show in December. There’s also a touch of Noé’s own manic dance masterpiece Climax in there, thanks to an amped up SebastiAn remix of Donna Summer’s iconic disco track “I Feel Love”. Following in the footsteps of 2019 short Lux Æterna, Anthony Vaccarello’s second partnership with Noé ends with a sweeping shot of models mooching about in the corridors and lounging in velvet chairs, with Sora Choi and Anok Yai among them.
