As an extension of the LA-based creative studio Commonwealth Projects, TLS has not only focused on dropping regular capsule collections, but also birthing initiatives that support LA businesses and combat gentrification – collaborating with the likes of Kelsey Lu, Sanam Sindhi, and Martine Syms in the process. Now, for their latest collection, Liquid State, DeSure and Rahim turn their focus to environmental justice. Considering the way small changes can create a domino effect when it comes to how we treat the environment, the offering celebrates the connection between humans and nature. With TLS’s signature tees and sweats bearing messages reading ‘at the centre of itself, the river is silence’, ‘ecosystems for empathetic expansion’ on the line-up, the line is rounded off by charcoal water filters and a shower timer to aid people when it comes to cutting down water usage. True to the brand’s altruistic ethos, one limited edition t-shirt has also been dedicated to the Friends of the LA River – an organisation started by poet-activist Lewis MacAdams, which has been fighting to restore community connection and natural ecology in South Los Angeles for over 30 years. All proceeds from the style go towards the organisation. Putting their beliefs into physical change, DeSure and Rahim have also reconsidered their production method, switching to a more sustainable production model. From now on, all Total Luxury Spa short and long sleeve t-shirts will be created using a 100 per cent recycled jersey. What’s more, garments are now packaged in completely plant-based and compostable materials, which decompose within 7 days to 6 months. The collection lands on November 27 on the Total Luxury Spa site – go check it out. Total Luxury Spa – ‘Liquid State’Courtesy of Total Luxury SpaEscape the algorithm!
