A lot of very famous people took selfies in Givenchy

The brand launched a social media lookbook campaign which saw everyone from Kim Kardashian to Laura Dern pose in Matthew M Williams’ first collection

Just a couple of weeks ago, Alyx designer Matthew M Williams unveiled his first, highly anticipated Givenchy collection, featuring an edgier, more modern new vision for the brand, nods to the house’s forebears, as well as a viral three-toed sock-heel combo.

Over the weekend, Givenchy shared the first – very celebrity-studded – digital campaign from this new era, with a global cast shooting themselves as a lookbook for the SS21 collection. Fashionable names included Naomi Campbell, Kim Kardashian West (whose picture went viral thanks to a stray hair extension), Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Alton Mason, stylist Lotta Volkova, and Dazed 100 model Ella Snyder, as well musicians Travis Scott, Deb Never (also on the Dazed 100), Playboi Carti, Skepta, and 070 Shake.

There were also names you might not expect – including tennis player Maria Sharapova, actors Laura Dern, Liv Tyler, and Julianne Moore, and fellow designer Kim Jones (who snapped a picture of a jacket in a more abstract take on the portraits).
