Searches for Marine Serre moon prints soared 426% after Black Is King

The French designer’s signature logo featured on a standout look from Beyoncé’s film

Have you recovered from the fashion splendour of Beyoncé’s Black is King, yet? Us neither, and we’re not the only ones. The visual feast – styled by Zerina Akers – has shone a spotlight on a huge list of global designers. But according to fashion search platform Lyst, there’s one look in particular that fans have been searching for: the Marine Serre printed outfit Beyonce wears in the video for “Already”.

In fact, while over the weekend the term “Marine Serre moon bodysuit” was a breakout search term on the platform, searches in general for the designer’s moon prints spiked 426% in 48 hours. Demand has grown for the brand since March, increasing 51% week-on-week. And Adele’s own fan moment likely helped things along.

Pretty impressive numbers, but then again, the designer’s sustainably-minded staple has become a must-have for a new generation of fashion fans, as we explored here. “The moon for us is like an icon, an emblem, an image, a representation, a flag, a language, a metaphor, an object of what we believe in: crossing boundaries, hybridity and freedom,” Serre told us.
