The Congolese sapeur on the invitation for Paul Smith's show was an obvious clue and sure enough the show opened with girls dressed in Congolese dandy finery. This then progressed into prints that are draped or wrapped, with colours like yellow, terracotta and olive punctuating the prints. Finally stripes that are mis-matched, tied and twisted come together for a series of dresses that look like different pieces of jigsaw are fitting together.
