Debuting his latest offering for the house of Saint Laurent tonight in Paris, the designer put forward a series of sensual, skin-tight looks comprising sheer, nipple-flashing pussybow blouses, sharp-shouldered, she-means-business suit jackets, plus a lot of latex. With the model line-up featuring the likes of Kaia Gerber, Saint Laurent fave Freja Beha Erichsen, and Binx Walton, who this season has been staging a bit of a runway comeback, wipe-clean trousers, pencil skirts, and thigh-high, razor-point boots were dressed down with plaid tailored styles in an ugly-chic palette of royal purple and deep khaki. Elsewhere, enormous faux furs in bold, bright turquoises and yellows were paired with kinky latex cocktail dresses and triangle bras and finished with chunky gold chains and felt fedoras. Overall, Saint Laurent’s AW20 woman is powerful, glamorous, rich, and, mostly likely, a little bit of a bitch. Think 90s femme fatale letting loose behind closed doors (on those thick, plush, beige carpets no less) and you’re halfway there. Escape the algorithm!
