Pictured poolside sipping a cocktail at dusk, standing under a beach umbrella, and lounging on a hotel bed, other photos see the model in an abandoned building and posing on a balcony in front of the setting sun. Shot by Marc Asekhame and styled by Ursina Gysi, the idea for the campaign came after Gysi told Ottolinger’s designers, Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient, about a trip she was taking with Asekhame to Lagos. Bösch and Gadient then decided to give the pair the creative freedom to create the campaign whilst they were there. Juxtaposing the chaotic nature of in Ottolinger’s collections with the moments of calm the Nigerian city offers, the photographs are intended to depict Asekhame’s experience in Lagos, which he saw as a utopia of many lights and endless sunsets. Kitted out in Ottolinger’s latest offering, Olaniyan is seen wearing an asymmetrical grey suit dress, a gingham top paired with blue glittered trousers, and a floral patterned two-piece. Ottolinger will present its AW20 collection tomorrow (February 25) as part of Paris Fashion Week. Check out the gallery above. Escape the algorithm!
