Created to ferry him and his wife Michèle Lamy (aka HUN) from Los Angeles Airport to the American artist and sculptor Michael Heizer’s ranch in Nevada – via Area 51 – Rick Owens has created a tour bus. Yes, you heard us right: A. Rick. Owens. Tour. Bus. 

Made in partnership with Moncler, the bus forms part of the American designer’s recently revealed collaboration with the Italian outerwear label.

Though details surrounding the full collaboration are still vague, with only a few images of Owens and Lamy sporting the collection unvelied via Instagram, the designer revealed he wanted to do something different with Moncler after they approached him for a partnership: and something different is exactly what he has done.

“Moncler approached me about a collab and I took advantage of the moment to ask them to do something different – to customise a tour bus for Hun and I to make a road trip,” explained Owens. “Heizer had invited us to see his monumental land art piece… and I hadn’t been to the west coast since I moved to Europe 18-years-ago.”

Talking to Vogue, Owens said of the bus, “It’s exactly like my house, all the interiors, all grey.” All in all, painstakingly chic we imagine. But you won’t have to imagine for much longer, with the Rick Owens express rolling into Milan – just in time for Milan Fashion Week – tomorrow (February 19).
