Cher fronts a Dsquared2 campaign wearing a sweater reading ICON

What else did you think it was going to say?

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of DSquared2, at its AW20 Milan Fashion Week show earlier this month, founders Dan and Dean Caten invited Sister Sledge on stage to perform their hit “We Are Family”. Clearly intending to keep the spirit of disco alive for the upcoming season, the Caten twins have enlisted none other than Cher to star in its latest campaign.

Shot in black and white wearing a slouchy sweater with the word ‘I C O N’ emblazoned across its chest (obviously), the singer is also captured wearing distressed denim jeans. Lensed by longtime DSquared2 collaborators Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, this is the only the image from the campaign which has been released so far, with no further details of the partnership published yet.

Of course, this isn’t the legendary singer’s first fashion rodeo. The 73-year-old was previously enlisted as the face of Marc Jacobs’ AW15 campaign. Dsquared2, on the other hand, has seen Bella Hadid and Naomi Campbell front some of its most memorable campaigns.

With countless SS20 campaigns currently dropping every day, this isn’t the only the latest high-end collaboration we have seen this season, with Naomi Campbell staring in her first-ever Vivienne Westwood series and Marc Jacobs staring alongside Charlotte Rampling in Givenchy’s SS20 campaign.
