Minus Billy Porter, the Golden Globes fashion was honestly so boringFashionNewsMinus Billy Porter, the Golden Globes fashion was honestly so boringmöther mäy we have söme more lëwksShareLink copied ✔️January 6, 2020FashionNewsTextJessica Heron-LangtonTextEmma Elizabeth Davidson Last night, in Hollywood, the 2020 Golden Globes took place, with the likes of Brad Pitt, Laura Dern, and Joaquin Phoenix taking home awards, and movies and shows including One Upon A Time In Hollywood, 1917, and Parasite all winning big. One area where there wasn’t quite so many winners, though, was on the red carpet, where – to quote the iconic André Leon Talley – a famine of beauty took place. Okay sure, so everyone looked ‘nice’, but where, pray tell, was the drama? With just a few celebrities getting their acts together when it came to their lewks *cough* Billy Porter *cough*, here’s our pick of the best. BILLY PORTER Thank the risen lord above for Billy Porter who never fails to bring a little glamour to proceedings. In an Alex Vanish look he dubbed ‘Blaque Swan’, the Pose actor swept up the red carpet in a white, crystal-embellished tuxedo with a lengthy feathered train (as carried by a helpful assistant). Porter took to FB stories prior to the awards ceremony to ask designers to 'do better' when it comes to who they design for: "Don't stop at a size six - go all the way up to a 22, why not? Everybody has to wear clothes no matter what size or colour you are. So... let's do that." Louder for the people at the back, Billy. ROWAN BLANCHARD Technically the former Dazed 100-er didn’t make it onto the red carpet, but obviously we couldn’t not include her given she brought it in a glittering sequined Miu Miu gown. KERRY WASHINGTON FashionThe full shoot: Dazed’s most NSFW fashion story to date As our Instagram editor put it during her coverage of the event last night (more on that here): choke us, Kerry Washington (in Altuzarra). No further words necessary. JOEY KING Dazed 100-er Joey King opted for a little Iris Van Herpen (from the boundary-pushing designer’s AW19 Couture collection) and gave us all a little treat. SAOIRSE RONAN Okay, so the Little Women and current Dazed cover star isn’t exactly pushing the fashion envelope in this sparkling Celine number, but the Paris Hilton circa her 21st birthday (but make it 2020j vibe she’s bringing to the rouge carpet is definitely worth a shout-out anyway. BEYONCÉ Following in the footsteps of Rowan Blanchard, Bey skipped the red carpet entirely and headed straight on in to the party. We’re not surprised, given what those golden Etro shoulders must weigh.
