As the news broke last night that the annual VS show is officially cancelled, it was also revealed that the singer-come-fashion mogul has just cast her first-ever brand ambassador, in the form of singer Normani. Making her debut for the label during its landmark SS20 show in New York earlier this year with a dance performance, the singer is seen wearing a red lacy underwear set in her first campaign shoot for the brand. Founding the Savage X Fenty on the principles of inclusivity and empowerment, this is an ethos that Rihanna is evidently keen to continue. “Normani is the perfect choice for a Savage X ambassador,” she explains. “She exudes confidence and power. Everything she does is executed with passion and the belief she’s going to kill it. That’s why people gravitate toward her.” After posting on her Instagram last night, the Motivation singer expressed her gratitude toward Rihanna, saying, “I want all individuals to feel empowered and to embrace who they truly are. I don’t always wake up feeling the most confident and powerful, but trust and believe having my Savage X on always helps!!” Despite appointing its first ambassador, the underwear label has also worked with Bella and Gigi Hadid, Slick Woods, and Cara Delevingne, who all modelled in the label’s runway show this September, along with the likes of Rihanna who opened the presentation in a black bodysuit.
