Queen Naomi Campbell just shut down the Saint Laurent runway

Before we’ve even had chance to recover after J.Lo closed Versace tbh

Before we’d even had a minute to recover from seeing J.Lo strut down the runway in THAT green jungle dress at Versace on Friday, Anthony Vaccarello gave us our life again by sending none other than Naomi Campbell down the runway at Saint Laurent tonight.

Having spent the afternoon posting a series of teasers on her Instagram, the OG super shut down the Parisian label’s SS20 show in a black sequinned iteration of the iconic house’s Le Smoking suit, as part of a show which explored the codes first outlined by Yves himself.

In fact, before the show, she paid tribute to the legendary designer and thanked him for believing in her when she was first making her mark on the fashion industry. “Grateful for you and for all the memories we’ve made together over the years. Kind-hearted, creative genius, and fashion visionary! We miss you dearly,” she wrote.

As well as a series of sequinned, all-black looks worn by Naomi and a succession of models, this season Vaccarello threw it back to the 70s, with a collection that riffed on Saint Laurent’s 1975 ‘peasant’-inspired offering.

On the line-up were gold brocade smocks, embroidered cotton prairie blouses, luxe velvet bloomer-style shorts, flocked, floral, and embellished dresses with deep-cut necklines, and plenty of metallic accessories, including slouchy boots and long neck-chains. Basically, think Sienna Miller and Kate Moss hanging out at Glastonbury circa the v early 00s and you’ve pretty much got it.
