Burberry SS19 campaignPhotography Nick Knight

Riccardo Tisci’s first Burberry campaign is a six photographer-shot bonanza

The designer enlisted Nick Knight, Colin Dodgson, Danko Steiner, Hugo Comte, Peter Langer, and Letty Schmiterlow to interpret his debut collection for the British house

With 2018 being a year of many firsts – Kim Jones at Dior, Virgil Abloh at Louis Vuitton, and Riccardo Tisci at Burberry among them – it only makes sense that this year brings with it the accompanying debut campaigns.

Following on from Abloh’s child-fronted series of images, Tisci has today released his reimagining of the SS19 collection which was first revealed in September during LFW. As part of an expression of diversity and inclusion, to create the images the designer enlisted not one, not two, but six photographers to each interpret the offering. That’s right, a mix of legends and upcoming names including Nick Knight, Colin Dodgson, Danko Steiner, Hugo Comte, Peter Langer, and Letty Schmiterlow were all tapped to lens the images.

“I pulled together six photographers, all with a very different energy, experience and point of view of the world to interpret this new Burberry era and the multigenerational men and women we speak to, all through their own unique eyes,” the designer explains. “I knew I wanted to work with a collection of collaborators to help interpret the breadth of what this incredible heritage house represents to so many different people - from the millennial to the mature, to the British and to the international.”

And that’s not it! If you thought the line-up of photographers was already A+, the models are also stellar – including Anok Yai, Sora Choi, Stella Tennant, Natalia Vodianova, Fran Summers, Rianne van Rompaey, and Irina Shayk. With LFW fast approaching, you don’t have long before Tisci presents his sophomore collection. In the meantime, view the campaign in the gallery above.
