Tavi Gevinson just walked at NYFW

The writer and actress took to the runway for the debut collection of new label CDLM

We’re one day into NYFW and already so much has happened. Most notably, Lil’ Kim scalping the whole damn thing by walking at VFiles in a full Gen-Z yellow get-up (wig included).

Elsewhere, CDLM – a new label founded by Creatures of the Wind’s Chris Peters – made its debut. Modelled by an eclectic mix of people both young and old, joining the cast was writer and actress Tavi Gevinson. The Rookie founder – who first found fame for her blog aged 13 – is usually found on the FROW, rather than sashaying down in front of those sitting on it.

Much like the models, the collection itself was a mix of different influences which reworked traditional pieces in unexpected ways – think coats that looked like they had been turned inside out, and spliced together combinations of sweatshirts and knitwear (50/50 fashion 2.0).
