Turning the spotlight on a new generation of activists as well as the radicals who came before them, the new issue of Dazed is out NOW! For our politically-charged summer edition, we bring together the characters pointing the way for new forms of protest, and proving that there’s no single approach to sparking change today.

In the first three of five covers, unceasing activist and punk pioneer Vivienne Westwood is captured powerfully by Harley Weir. A new era inspired by Vivienne’s enduring spirit comes together for our second cover shoot by Hanna Moon, and Ryan McGinley lenses some of the young protesters powering the anti-gun movement in the US. 

Elsewhere in the issue, we speak to Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors about the influence of creative activism, Sara Stockbridge reflects on her reign as the knicker-flashing face of Westwood in the 80s, Matty Bovan introduces us to his mum, we speak to some of the UK’s emerging political thinkers and go through the keyhole of Shakedown, a new documentary about a POC queer strip-bar in 00s LA.
