First created in 1962 to combat harsh Canadian winters, Sorel’s shoes have always had to be made of stern stuff. Focusing on functionality and craft, the main aim was to create footwear that look good as well as being built to last.
For its SS18 collection though, Sorel has brought its expertise to a range of models more suited to the (fingers crossed) sunnier summer months. Still underpinned with Sorel’s love for function, the collection is fashion forward too.
The latest collection includes new silhouettes as well as reinterpretations of archival models – there are sleek trainers with ridged soles, sophisticated ankle boots with cutouts and straps, wedged sandals, high and low-top plimsolls and festival-ready chukkas.
With mostly neutral, earthy tones used for those who prefer safer options, there are also brighter splashes of red, and options in shiny leather and snakeskin prints for those who like to turn heads. Something for everyone, basically.
