Its trainers have graced the feet of countless tennis, track and field and football stars over the years and they’ve led legends such as José Luis Clerc, Alessandro Andrei and Andriy Shevchenko to victory. So the news that the Italian label has delved into its archives and revamped a selection of its iconic vintage styles from the 70s and 80s – including ones worn during standout sporting wins – for SS18 is a no brainer. The shape of the OG shoes has been carefully retained to ensure they remain inherently retro, but both men’s and women’s designs will be available in a variety of new, modern prints and finishes. The collection ranges from the more pared down, soft nappa or perforated leather models to multi-material constructions, with panels decked out in camo, floral, denim and pearlescent fabrics. The throwback drop will also include charming new touches like personalisable laces and tongue embroidery stating ‘1973’ – the year Lotto was founded. Something is bound to take your fancy because there are so many options to choose from, and with the athleisure trend rife as ever, it’s fair to say you’ll be able to wear them come what may – they’re as fit for a workout as they are an accompaniment to any casual outfit.
