From working for The New York Times, Vanity Fair, and W magazine, to serving on the judging panel for America’s Next Top Model, and the 15 years he spent as Vogue's editor-at-large, his experience is as huge as his character is. And now, we’re about to get an intimate, inside view of his life and career as we’ve never seen it before, in new documentary The Gospel According to André. The film, directed by Kate Novack, chronicles Talley’s life and career: from his humble beginnings growing up in North Carolina, to his high-ranking positions in the fashion and media world in a way that has been deemed “inspiring, entertaining and hilarious.” As one of fashion’s best-known and well-respected figures, it is no wonder that exclusive interviews with famous faces such as Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs and Whoopi Goldberg all feature in the trailer, as they speak fondly of Talley and tell unheard anecdotes which are both compelling and heart-warming. Archival footage of his career also features, beginning with his involvement with Andy Warhol’s Factory in the 1970s, to huge recent events including the Met Gala, where we see Talley greet guests such as Rihanna and Sean Combs. Perhaps the best part of the trailer, though, is finding out how soon we'll actually be able to watch the film. Distribution company Magnolia Films has announced the release date of the documentary as May 25. Book your tickets ASAP. Escape the algorithm!
