Aspesi’s new collection is anti-logomania

SS18 is all about clean cut, utilitarian style staples

Logomania is everywhere right now. 90s and 00s monogram prints are back again with design houses emblazoning their names across their garments more than ever.

Bucking the trend is Milanese label Aspesi, whose pieces are rendered timeless as a result of its refreshingly different, logo-free approach.

Established in 1969, Aspesi originally only sold men’s shirts, but it has since branched out to produce full mens and womenswear lines and place an increasing focus on fabric research and innovative manufacturing processes.

Its SS18 collection is a perfect marriage of practicality and prettiness – clean cut, utilitarian style wardrobe staples in wearable, block shades dominate.

The accompanying lookbook is playful – the model is flanked with props and sports a coiffed hairdo and crayon-like make up. In one shot she even dons a coat with a bear head sewn into it (because why not?!).
