London boutique Machine-A is revered amongst the fashion crowd as one of the best places to find upcoming brands. Founded by Stavros Karelis in 2009, it’s here you’ll find new brands you need to know like Alex Mullins, Xander Zhou, Y/Project and fashion fave Raf Simons. The same can now be said for the new Martine Rose x Napapijri collaboration, which was launched last Friday in the store.
The collection consists of a series of majorly oversized fleeces and parkas that range from primary colours to a more muted black. Not for those that think thin, these pieces are literally large enough to double up as a sleeping bag or great for keeping people at bay on the daily commute.
To mark its release, the hard-wearing quality of the line is reflected in a series of images shot by Britt Lloyd, which feature various models scrambling across an assembly of scaffolding – a set you might recognise from SHOWstudio’s SS18 live panels. With styling by Kate Iorga and production by Harry Fisher, this isn’t the first time the team has been brought together to work with the London designer. They also recently released a zine titled Don Pedro in collaboration with Ditto which explored the designer’s neighbourhood.
