Then, it was the turn of Chloé’s Claire Waight Keller to curate a series of playlists, and this month the spotlight is on none other than the legendary Paul Smith. Laying bare the musical influences that play a fundamental role in his design, Smith will upload three themed playlists to the platform – one is dedicated solely to his favourite jazz musicians, the other is a combination of his musical past and present whereas the last makes reference to his various global travels. The playlist themselves come accompanied by a short clip which sees the designer rummaging for hidden treasures at Notting Hill’s Rough Trade before returning to his famed Covent Garden office. The pairing is fitting considering his continued love affair with music. Earlier this year he created a t-shirt for his late friend David Bowie’s album Blackstar, and back in June put on a colour-soaked SS17 show that paid tribute to Bob Marley, complete with string vests, reflective shades and, of course, a feel good reggae soundtrack.
