Jeremy Meeks, the ‘hot mugshot guy’ whose face launched a thousand internet memes, has been released from prison after serving a 27-month sentence for felony weapon charges. Meeks rose to fame last year after his mugshot, posted to Stockton Police Department’s Facebook page, went viral, attracting over 101,000 likes and 12,700 shares. The blue-eyed, chisel-jawed felon even gained the attention of talent agencies, one of whom – White Cross Management – signed him, while he was still behind bars. Earlier today he posted a picture of himself with photographer Jim Jordan (the first since his release) on Instagram with the caption, “I want to thank my family and everybody for all your love, support and prayers. I’m overwhelmed and grateful for what lies ahead. I’m ready.” “I’m in a place where I will be able to provide for my family and really change my life,” he told ABC News from prison last month. “I never thought that everyone in the world would recognise me for my looks, so I feel extremely blessed and very thankful.” But what’s next for Meeks, now that he’s free? We wouldn’t be surprised if Olivier Rousteing calls, asking him to join his #BalmainArmy. Check out the gallery for some of the original memes, and see below for some of his Instagram photos.
