I don’t know, what is strange anyway?’ShareLink copied ✔️January 14, 2016FashionFirst LookTextJake Hall Described as ‘The Muppets meets The Devil Wears Prada’, Mercedes-Benz today releases the fourth instalment of its ‘Fashion Creatives’ video series starring legendary sound designer and the man behind fashion’s favourite Instagram account, Michel Gaubert. Having provided soundtracks for the likes of Margiela, Chanel and Dior, Gaubert has established an enviable list of clients. Of course, he couldn’t have achieved any of this without the help of his esteemed assistant Petit Michel, the star of this light-hearted video. Proving that fashion doesn’t always takes itself seriously, the clip is directed by LA-based Toben Seymour who enlisted the talent of puppeteer Viktor Yerrid, one of the men behind The Muppets. What is simply a work trip to Gaubert quickly becomes an opportunity for Petit Michel to live the life of luxury, throwing chaotic parties in hotel rooms and attracting the attention of the beautiful locals. Although Michel acknowledges that the partnership might seem bizarre, he is extremely supportive of his assistant – “He is a genius! To the outside world he is just a puppet but I think now it’s time for them to see more.” The upcoming Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin will see Petit Michel begin to establish a reputation of his own. Keep an eye out for him on the front row...
