While the hype is continuing to build, the brand’s tenth anniversary celebrations are already underway. One part of these celebrations is a charitable partnership with Do Something – an organisation supporting youth and social change. Wang has designed a collection of hoodies and t-shirts bearing the charity’s logo and has enlisted the help of his friends to model them. These friends are people who, according to the press release, “Wang admires and who influence youth with a strong relevant voice”. Translation: a some pretty major names from the worlds of fashion and music. The series of portraits, shot by Steven Klein, includes several Dazed cover stars including Kate Moss, A$AP Rocky and Grimes. Cara Delevingne also makes an appearance along with Kim and Kanye and musicians such as Swedish singer Lykke Li, New York rapper Angel Haze and former Crystal Castles frontwoman turned solo artist Alice Glass who starred in Wang’s AW15 campaign. The portraits, and the hoodies and t-shirts themselves have been created to raise both funds and awareness for Do Something’s cause. “Do Something is a really important charity because it really gives a lot of the youth out there the platform to explore their interests and hobbies and to get them to think outside the box.” The collection is available from Alexander Wang stores and www.alexanderwang.com.
