Japan's noir maestro – the man behind Y-3 and post-Hiroshima chic – is teaming up with Hello Kitty to produce a new collection called Kitty's. WWD reports that Sanrio, Hello Kitty's parent company, has tapped Yamamoto to head up the brand. His team will be in charge of product development, production and branding. The collection will include apparel and accessories featuring characters from the Hello Kitty and My Melody (she's the pink rabbit, remember?) universe. Two stores will be opening in Japan in March and April. Expect the first collection to include t-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts and jackets. Of course, none of this gets us any nearer to the truth: is Hello Kitty actually a cat or not? (h/t The Cut) Liked this?
