Much like today’s show (where all of Rousteing’s fantasies were clearly made a reality) it was about full throttle sex appeal with no expense spared. “I didn’t know I can’t talk about sex”: If you’ve been following Rousteing on Instagram over the last few days, you’ll know there's been one thing on his mind. From Helmut Newton’s iconic photograph, "Two Pairs of Legs in Black Stockings" (1979), to an image of a drained iPhone battery with the words ‘Need Sex!!’ today’s show was clearly about bringing a certain allure back to the Paris runway. Fetishistic elements played out in the collection’s cut-out cage dresses, transparent PVC skirts and plunging deep neck lines, whilst hypnotic Mondrian-inspired prints were rendered in skin-tight leather that caged the female form. Here come the girls: A Balmain show wouldn’t be complete without Rousteing’s fearless army, or Kim and Kanye on the front row. This season his gang were out in full force including Dazed cover star Binx Walton, Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls and today’s show even saw the return of model Jessica Miller, who pioneered the athletic body aesthetic of the early 00s.
