A tale of two Lauren’s: Ralph Lauren chose this moment to present a new Polo collection for women. Split into two halves, with a dip of the lights to define the two collections, the show opened with Polo’s youthful insouciance, and closed with the drama of bias cut gowns.

Part one, polo play:

Wide-eyed and flirty, like a doe-eyed girl finishing college and embarking on her first solo backpacking trip.

How they wore it:

Breezy florals with leather jackets peppered with badges, hiking boots, grungy plaid layers, and flippy leather skirts.

Part two, the Ralph Lauren DNA:

Ten years into the future, when that dreamer girl got a high-power career, an even more powerful husband, and champagne receptions placed sharing beers with mates.

The high-glamour marabou feather capes and pastel furs worn with fluid cashmere and thigh-high dove grey suede boots.
