MAN: Alan Taylor AW14

Initial reaction:

Flying the flag for the male skirt. Though this was no sweet collection: slicked back hair, hooded stares and metallic leather gloves sent shivers of a sick, perverted undercurrent.

How they wore it:

Off-kilter proportions, over-oversize trousers, asymmetrical hemlines and slits in unexpected places. The wash of pale colour peppered with day glo bags and metallic gloves.

Stand out looks:

An ankle-length black tweed coat woven with silvery threads. Random prints became falling figures and alley way shadows on heavy coats and fisherman knits.

Alan Taylor shared the Talking Heads 1983 concert film ‘Stop Making Sense’ as his AW14 YouTube clip last week. David Byrne was present in every elongated lapel, sharp, sinewy limb and neutral finish.
